Moving with Intention: Reclaiming Love from Within

For a long time, I thought movement was about results — strength, weight, flexibility, aesthetics. I was taught to see my body as something to fix, to mold, or to discipline into submission.

But now I know that movement can be something much deeper.
Something sacred.
Something healing.

Intentional movement has become a form of self-support. It’s how I listen to myself. It’s how I hold space for all the parts of me — the strong, the tender, the tired, the unsure. It’s how I say: I am here. I matter. I deserve to be nurtured.

It didn't start this way.
In fact, the turning point came when my therapist looked at me and said words that left me breathless:

“You’re outsourcing love.”

At first, I recoiled. My body tensed, my mind scrambled for a rebuttal. I felt exposed, embarrassed… but also seen in a way I hadn’t allowed myself to be.
Because deep down, I knew she was right.

I had spent years looking outside of myself for affirmation — through relationships, productivity, perfectionism, service. I knew how to show up for others, but I didn’t know how to show up for myself.
That truth was hard to sit with. But it was also the beginning of everything changing.

Learning to Nurture Myself Wasn’t Easy — But It Set Me Free

Giving myself the love, care, and gentleness I had longed for from others didn’t happen overnight.
It happened in small moments:

  • Choosing rest over hustle.
  • Moving my body because it felt good, not because I had to.
  • Creating rituals that centered my well-being.
  • Letting myself be witnessed — not for what I do, but for who I am.

Intentional movement became one of those rituals. A bridge between body and spirit. A daily practice that allowed me to express my emotions, release stuck energy, and reconnect with my power. It’s where I learned how to meet myself with kindness.

There’s a kind of freedom that comes when you stop chasing love and start cultivating it from within. It’s not loud. It’s not always Instagrammable. But it’s real. And it’s sustainable.

Planting Seeds of Intention

When we move with purpose, we plant seeds for something more meaningful:

  • Inner strength that doesn’t depend on validation.
  • Confidence rooted in knowing, not proving.
  • Calm in the body and clarity in the mind.
  • A deeper connection to spirit and intuition.

This is the foundation for real growth — not just in our bodies, but in our lives.

But intention doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s a choice. A practice. A lifestyle.

From Pressure to Presence In this deeply personal post, Mysti explores how the pressure to be "good" or "great" at something can distract us from true growth. She reflects on how societal expectations and imposter syndrome once made her hesitant to try — until she reframed learning as a journey of presence rather than performance. Through vulnerability and self-awareness, Mysti shares how challenges have helped her discover unknown parts of herself and move toward a more authentic, whole-hearted way of living. This blog also introduces upcoming changes to the Move with Mysti membership starting in July, including: Weekly live meditation and movement classes on Wednesdays A new monthly Intention Circle for emotional support and connection Access to a full library of past classes Optional 1:1 Intention Sessions for deeper personal guidance It’s a heartfelt invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and grow — not for perfection, but for meaning.

Having real, effective conversations requires clarity. Communication without direction is like wandering without a map—unfocused and unproductive. Approaching conversations with a clear goal in mind ensures that interactions are purposeful, prevents misunderstandings, and builds stronger relationships. Whether it’s in personal connections, workplace discussions, or even interactions with healthcare providers, effective communication is key to positive outcomes.

For me, wellness has never been about dictating what people should do. It’s about engaging people in their own wellness journey. True well-being isn’t about following a strict set of rules—it’s about discovering what works for you, learning how to listen to your body, and cultivating habits that align with your values and lifestyle.

Culture Matters: Why Learning & Respecting Culture is Essential Imagine a world where every traveler took the time to truly understand a country’s history, traditions, and language before visiting. A world where cultural respect wasn’t optional—but a necessity. Growing up, I was taught that European history was the pinnacle of civilization, while other cultures were mere footnotes. That perspective shaped the way many of us see the world. But moving to Thailand opened my eyes. It made me realize how often people travel without truly seeing, without truly learning. Culture isn’t just a backdrop—it shapes identity, self-esteem, and human connection. Yet, many arrive in foreign lands with little interest in learning the customs or history, taking without giving back. In my latest article, I explore why deep cultural understanding should be a priority—not an afterthought. Because when we honor culture, we honor people.

The Age of "Alone Together" Technology has fundamentally altered how we connect. We’ve become accustomed to a new way of being: 🔹 Alone together. Surrounded by people, yet disconnected. 🔹 Efficiency over depth. Human relationships are messy, emotional, and time-consuming—technology strips away the complexity. 🔹 Constant demand for instant responses. Reflection and thoughtful conversations are now considered a weakness.

Technology has made life so easy for us in so many ways. Technology has also made us more disconnected with ourselves and with each other

Movement is so much more than what we have been programmed to believe. It is the healing source of our bodies. We are meant to move our bodies. We are meant to celebrate our bodies. Most importantly we are meant to take care of our bodies through movement.
